Early Dawes for the 12th Man

Lewes Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Worthing centre-forward Lloyd Dawes for an undisclosed fee.  Twenty-one year old Dawes has been a prolific striker around the Sussex Non-League scene, scoring 29 goals in all competitions for The Rebels.

I’ve managed Lloyd when he was a teenager at Whitehawk and know he has goals in him”, commented Darren Freeman after a hectic Bank Holiday Monday, “Last season he was pivotal to Worthing’s success and I’m sure he will prove to be just as prolific for us next season.  I’d also like to thank each and every contributor to the 12th Man Fund as without that contribution we may not have been able to get Lloyd”

In the past three seasons Lloyd has scored over 50 goals in all competitions for Worthing (plus one for Peacehaven and Telscombe) and was being tracked by a number of clubs.

Chairman Stuart Fuller hailed the deal as a great achievement for the club, “Not only have we managed to secure the services of a very exciting young centre-forward but we’ve done so through the funds donated by the fans.  This was exactly the type of deal we hoped the 12th Man Fund would enable us to make”

Lloyd joins an exciting young squad built by Darren, ready for the start of Pre-Season Training in just three weeks time.
