Jonte joins Welling

JonteStriker Jonte Smith has joined National League South side Welling Utd.

Despite receiving an improved offer from the Rooks over the summer, the Bermuda international has decided to make the switch to the Wings, now under the managership of Mark Goldberg.

Smith scored ten times in 15 appearances for the Rooks last season, and scored his first international goal against Cuba during his time with the Rooks.

We wish Jonte all the best for the future.

Earlier this week, Darren Freeman signed former Eastbourne Borough striker Dean Bown, who will be competing with Alex Laing, Richard Greenfield and George Landais for a place in the Rooks’ forward line next season.
