Lewes Ladies welcome Charlton Athletic to the Dripping Pan this Sunday.

Lewes Ladies welcome Charlton Athletic to the Dripping Pan this Sunday. It’s out first FA Women’s Premier League meeting with CAFC this season, thanks to a cycle of postponements and cup fixtures.

Charlton’s interest in the SSE FA Women’s Cup was ended in the 4th round as they went down 1-3 at home to Durham. By all accounts the Addicks were unlucky, missing a host of chances. Sadly that will sound all too familiar to our fans who saw Lewes exit a round earlier having dominated their tie against Loughborough Foxes.

In the league, Charlton are hot on the heels of the leaders. Prior to their cup exit they scored 13 goals in two matches without reply, beating QPR 5-0 in the Capital Cup semi-final, Kit Graham scoring a hat-trick, and hammering West Ham 8-0 in the league, Gemma Shepherd and Kim Dixson bagging three a-piece.

Lewes go into this match on the back of an excellent away win against Plymouth Argyle. The home fans will be hoping to see another rousing display on Sunday. Kick off is 2pm at the Dripping Pan, Mountfield Road, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 2X. Adults 3 pounds, kids under 16 go free.

The return fixture is on 3rd April.
