FA WPL Sunday 28th February 2016. Our postponed Valentines Day fixture finally gets under way this coming Sunday.
QPR match form guide: LWWWLL
QPR will be looking to bounce back after a couple of heavy defeats to Bristol City (7-1 in the FA Cup) and Charlton Athletic (5-0 in the Capital One Cup). Two good away wins came against Chichester and Enfield, both cup matches, Jo Wilson (2 goals in each) and Danielle Puddefoot (1 in each) on the score-sheet.
The Hoops gave Lewes a good game at their place earlier in the season, where the Rookettes edged an initially tight contest 3-1, goals from Ellie Lock (2) and skipper Kelly Newton. Our respective DS squads played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Rookery recently.
Lewes have endured a cruel run of late, with postponements and a tough loss (6-5 on penalties in the FA Cup) leaving the players and staff without reward or game-time for a lot of hard work on the training ground. We welcome recent signing Kellie Larkin to the Dripping Pan for what will be her home debut.
Let’s hope we can get this match on and get a good crowd in to enjoy what we expect to be a great game of football. Kick off is 2pm, bar and snack hatch open, £3 admission (with free programme) and kids under 16 go free.
Take a look at the Rookettes link and meet The Lewes Ladies Teams. Kids may get to meet their favorite player on Sunday. The Rookettes
