The 6th Lewes FC Beer Festival will be held at the Rook Inn, Lewes Football Club on Friday, March 4 from 5pm until late, and there are some spectacular highlights in the first batch of ales released today.
The festival will be a celebration of some of the most celebrated beers & ciders from the Sussex region, from established to new breweries alike, and our friends at CIRCA, will once again be providing some amazing pub grub to compliment the evening.
In an exclusive to the festival, Miles Jenner, Head Brewer at Harvey’s brewery, has kindly released a rare cask of the Harvey’s classic, Star of Eastbourne ale, brewed in casks at 6.5% abv, as well as a one-off out-of-season-special, Bonfire Boy, once again in cask at 5.8%
Details of this year’s entries from world class brewers Burning Sky will appear shortly, but we can announce two very special entries from Horsham’s Kissingate Brewery. The first is Chennai Premium IPA (5%), “Notes of sweet oranges, grapefruit, lemons, resin, pine with a floor roasted malt backbone to carry a lasting bitter sweet finish”, and following on from last years, ‘Six Crows’, re-named ‘6-Rooks’ on the night, we can exclusively reveal ‘Murder of Crows’ , a rare and complex double mashed Imperial Stout coming in at a whopping 10%
