Crabb nips back home

Nathan CrabbHot on the heels of Monday’s squad update we can today reveal the return of a fans’ favourite and the club’s top scorer over the previous three seasons. Nathan Crabb needs no introduction to Rooks’ supporters and his direct attacking play, tireless running, pace and eye for goal will again be on display at the Dripping Pan.

The middle Crabb brother initially burst into the Lewes side in the February of 2012 and finished his debut season with 8 goals in 13 matches, with the Rooks narrowly missing out on a play-off place. While playing the majority of games on the right side of the Lewes attack, Crabb still weighed in with 32 goals in 102 starts and no one will forgot his all-important late brace at Cray Wanderers in April 2013, which effectively preserved our place in the Ryman Premier Division.

The Lewes’ player of the season in 2012/13 exited the club just six months ago with a move to Three Bridges but is delighted to be back. “It was definitely right for me to move at the time as I wasn’t playing much and I needed to get minutes under my belt, and although I was slightly hampered by an injury at Three Bridges it was great to get back on the pitch and scoring 3 goals in 4 starts was pleasing. I never really wanted to leave the Dripping Pan though and I can’t wait to be back playing in front of the Lewes crowd. They’re brilliant fans and hopefully I can reward them! Having the new training facilities at the club is also a big draw for me”.

In a minor change to our pre-season campaign, we will now be playing Whitehawk on Friday 24th July, 7.45pm kick off instead of the originally advertised Saturday 25th July.
